"Deep Snow" by RFM McInnis

RFM McInnis was born in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1942. After receiving a Diploma in Fine and Applied Arts in 1961, he spent five years in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a photographer. "It was the nearest to making pictures I could do and still earn a living in those days." This first experience led to an art career that crisscrossed the country.

McInnes lived and painted in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, which provided him with an unparalleled opportunity to get to know the history, the terrain and the art scene of much of Canada. In 2006, he relocated to Winnipeg, where he currently finds inspiration in the places, landscapes and people.

"Deep Snow" was donated by Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP to the permanent collection of the Buhler Gallery located in Winnipeg's St. Boniface General Hospital. The Buhler Gallery is open to all patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers and staff. Its goal is to provide an oasis of contemplation and vision.
