Join ICTAM and TDS on the last Tuesday of each month for our new Executive Breakfast Series. Each session will focus on an area of interest that will assist you in optimizing key facets of your business. This month’s session will focus on legal considerations in recruitment, retention and termination of employees and will feature a presentation by Adrian Frost. Adrian will review issues that are attracting significant attention within workplaces and the public generally, including the following:
• Legal considerations related to off-duty conduct and the ability of an employer to discipline and/or terminate an employee for such conduct, including inappropriate behaviour through social media.
• The latest on the duty to accommodate family status and what employers need to know to address such claims.
• A summary of the September 2015 Manitoba Human Rights Tribunal Decision of Horrocks and Northern Regional Health Authority addressing the duty to accommodate alcoholism and the significant remedial authority that exists under The Human Rights Code (Manitoba).
