TDS is committed to providing our valued clients with new services and to being progressive when it comes to adopting new technology. We are pleased to announce that TDS is now able to offer our clients video conferencing technology. In August, 2011 the firm purchased a high definition (HD) video conferencing center to enhance our ability to serve clients in remote locations in Manitoba, in other jurisdictions in Canada and at locations around the world.

Several of our clients are located outside of Winnipeg. This new service will allow our clients and lawyers to meet face-to-face without having to leave their office, reducing time away from the office and away from family. Of course, video conferencing is not meant to replace all in-person meetings. We understand there are times when meeting face-to-face is needed, but in situations where in-person meetings are not essential, this new solution will prove to be efficient, cost-effective and convenient.

Getting started on video conferencing with TDS is easy. If your organization has an existing ISDN or Internet based video conferencing system, we should be able to connect without a problem. If your organization does not have video conferencing, there are a couple of options available to you. In most urban centers, there are video conferencing facilities that can be rented for a nominal fee, providing true HD quality video. A second option is to use a standard computer with a webcam and a special software program which would be provided by TDS. In both cases, we ask that the first time a video conference is requested with us, we do a test call in advance of the actual meeting, to ensure there are no technology issues between the systems.

Once testing in advance has been completed, our team can turn around video conferencing requests in as little as 2 hours, providing the ability to meet on the fly as needed. TDS can help our clients with one-on-one video conference calls, or with multi-site calls as well.
