Allan L.V. Stewart


Allan has been in continuous private law practice since 1975. He also has had many years of court room experience in primarily civil litigation cases. He has appeared in all levels of trial and appellate courts in Manitoba, the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as in many administrative tribunals, on a wide variety of cases. His practice has included litigating lengthy and complex contract and tort cases. He has a BV Distinguished designation from Martindale-Hubbell lawyers’ peer review for very high rating in both legal ability and ethical standards.

Representative Cases/Transactions

In more recent years, Allan has developed extensive experience in negotiating, drafting agreements for and closing corporate and commercial transactions for clients ranging from small individual proprietorships to large publicly traded corporations. He has represented publicly traded corporate clients involved in mergers, acquisitions and take-over bids on a national level.

Professional Associations

Allan has been an active member of the Manitoba and Canadian Bar Associations since 1975. He has also served as a member of various sub committees of the Law Society of Manitoba and was Chair of the General Practitioners Subsection of the Manitoba Bar Association.

Community Involvement and Other Affiliations

Allan has served on various boards and committees of community organizations including the Steinbach Arts Council, the Manitoba Association of Rights and Liberties and served as President of Victoria-Lindenwoods Community Club for two years. He has received recognition from the Government of Canada as a Volunteer during the International Year of Volunteers and from the Mayor's office of the City of Winnipeg for community service work.
