David Perlov


David’s practice is focused on business law, commercial transactions, commercial litigation, foreclosure, debtor/creditor law, including collections, enforcement of security, work out situations, bankruptcy and restructuring, banking and financial transactions, wills and estates and real estate transactions.

He has a broad based clientele comprised of financial institutions, small and large corporate/business clients, trustees in bankruptcy, and individual clients.

David Perlov joined Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS) in June, 2010. He served as Managing Partner of the firm of Perlov Stewart LLP for close to 30 years, until its merger with TDS in 2010. He has significant experience in both the practice of law and in the operation of business.

Achievements

David started a solo law practice upon his Call to the Bar. Perlov Stewart was established in 1982. The firm grew and was successfully operated with David as Managing Partner through to the merger of Perlov Stewart LLP with Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP in 2010.

In addition to operating and managing a law practice, David had been involved in several active businesses, including a truck cab manufacturing business, a fishing lodge and a university exam preparation seminar business. He has been on the board of directors and an officer of private and non-profit corporations. He has been on management committees on investor problem matters, and chaired various other committees, both in business and for the community.

David has appeared in all levels of the Courts of Manitoba. He has appeared on various tribunals, and has been involved in arbitration proceedings.
