Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP successfully represented Snow Lake Lithium in the Court of Queen's Bench (Manitoba) on an emergency application to have a special meeting of shareholders purportedly called by a group of dissident shareholders for August 10, 2022 declared null and void. At that special meeting, the dissident shareholders sought the removal and replacement of the directors of the company.

Legal proceedings were commenced on July 20, 2022, and the application was argued on July 28, 2022.

On August 5, 2022, the Court declared that the special meeting called by the dissident shareholders was invalid, as would be any business conducted at such a meeting should one be convened.

Additionally, the Court ordered and declared that a special meeting of the shareholders called by the Board of Snow Lake Lithium for December 15, 2022 had been validly called in accordance with the relevant provisions of The Corporations Act (Manitoba).

With the matter resolved, Snow Lake Lithium is now able to continue to focus their efforts on accomplishing their mission to become the world's first fully electric and sustainable lithium mine and an integral component of the North American EV ecosystem.

TDS provided a wide range of legal services to Snow Lake Lithium throughout the matter and the team included: Andrew D.F. Sain and Ross A. McFadyen (Litigation), Glen W. Agar (Corporate & Commercial Law) and Barry MacTavish (Securities Law).
