Type of Event: Event

Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP  will be presenting a complimentary Construction Law seminar about the new The Limitations Act and expected amendments to The Builders' Liens Act, featuring TDS lawyers Jon Woolley, Bailey Harris, Meghan Ross, Sharyne Hamm, Kosta Vartsakis and Jarrod Sundmark.

The new Limitations Act comes into effect on September 30, 2022. This new legislation will impose a single limitation period of two years, which generally begins from the day a claim is discovered. This represents a significant change to the calculation of limitation periods in Manitoba and will have a material impact on the timelines to commence and resolve disputes in the construction industry.

Amendments to The Builders’ Liens Act to incorporate prompt payment are expected this fall. Join TDS lawyers to discuss these anticipated changes and how you can prepare.
