TDS lawyer Sharyne Hamm will be instructing the Winnipeg Construction Association course “Limitation Periods and Construction Disputes” on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

The Province of Manitoba proclaimed new legislation to repeal and replace The Limitations of Actions Act. The new Act, in effect as of September 30, 2022, will now impose a single basic limitation period of two years, which generally begins from the day the claim is discovered. It also alters the ultimate limitation period. This update will bring limitations periods in line with neighbouring provinces and will ensure that disputes begin in a timely manner.

These changes will have an effect on dispute resolution within the construction industry. This session will describe more about these changes and how the new Limitations of Actions Act will impact you and your business.
