The print has been donated to CancerCare Manitoba this year.
Walter Phillips was born in Lincolnshire, England in 1884. He and his wife Gladys immigrated to Winnipeg in 1913. He is recognised as a master of the watercolour and the woodblock print. His works are in private collections and galleries across Canada, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies.
The subject of this card is Kildonan Park, a much loved Winnipeg park. TDS has donated the woodblock print “Kildonan Park” to CancerCare Manitoba. Through early detection, care, research, education and public outreach, CancerCare Manitoba contributes to the prevention of cancer and improves the outcomes and quality of life of Manitobans with cancer and blood disorders.
