As TDS was preparing to move to True North Square, the firm auctioned off the majority of its existing art. The auction raised $2,600 and 100% of those proceeds have now been donated to Art City.
Art City is a not-for-profit community art centre dedicated to providing people of all ages (with a focus on underserved children & youth) with high-quality art programming, free-of-charge. Art City’s work is based on the philosophy that creative self-expression through the arts has the power to transform lives and communities, and that access to opportunities to engage with cultural practices is a basic human right. Art City also believes that artists are change agents in society and are highly undervalued in our culture. Art City brings these two elements together with miraculous results. To donate art supplies, please contact their studio at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jeff Hirsch is the TDS Partner looking after the firm’s art initiative. Jeff said the decision to donate the proceeds to Art City was a natural given the firm’s commitment to supporting programs which assist both youth and the local arts community.
