Effective May 31st, 5:00 p.m. CST, Donald G. Douglas resigned from Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS).
For several years, Don has represented two clients in a contentious and complicated litigation matter. Recent developments gave rise to the possibility of a future conflict, as a result of which TDS would no longer be able to act for these clients.
After giving the matter careful consideration, Don reluctantly came to the conclusion that the only way he could be certain of being able to continue to represent his clients would be to resign as a partner from TDS, where he has practiced law for over 45 years.
Keith LaBossiere, CEO and Managing Partner of TDS sent out an internal email saying “Don’s resignation from the firm was accepted with sadness and regret. His contributions to the firm were significant as a lawyer, colleague and leader. His enduring strong and positive influence in the firm will be missed. Please join me in wishing him well.”
Don will continue to practice law under Donald G. Douglas Law Corporation as a sole practitioner.
