Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS) is pleased to welcome Jeffrey Kowall back to the firm.
Jeff’s practice is focused on corporate and commercial law. He advises clients with respect to financings, mergers and acquisitions, commercial agreements and other corporate and commercial matters. Jeff has particular expertise advising mining companies on commercial matters, including those relating to project development from the due diligence phase, through the negotiation and drafting of letters of intent, option agreements and joint venture agreements. He also is experienced in assisting mining companies and financing parties in connection with confirmation and analysis of mineral interest tenure in Manitoba. Jeff previously conducted a sports law practice with a particular focus on providing advice to professional hockey players as a certified agent with the National Hockey League Players’ Association. He also has experience serving as senior in-house counsel for a publicly-traded Canadian company with operations in North and South America, Australia and Eastern Europe.
Jeff began his careers at TDS as an articling student in 1992 and continued on with TDS through 2019, where he worked on many notable matters, including the completion of HudBay Minerals Inc.'s equity offering of over 20 million shares [will link to client work]. While at TDS, he was selected to be included in the 2018 Lexpert/ROB Special Edition – Canada’s Leading Corporate Lawyers and recognized in Lexpert Magazine’s “Leading Lawyers in Global Mining” special edition. He has been repeatedly recognized by the Lexpert Directory as a Leading Lawyer in Mining Law.
