TDS Welcomes Katherine Jones to the Firm

Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS) is pleased to welcome Katherine Jones to the firm.

Katherine is based primarily in the Christianson TDS Neepawa office and her law practice is concentrated in the areas of property and development with an emphasis on agricultural, commercial, construction, industrial, and residential real estate transactions, property development, mortgage financing, mortgage sale and foreclosure proceedings, leasing, and succession planning. Her practice also includes wills, estate administration, municipal law, and a litigation sub-practice relating to real property disputes and estate litigation.

Katherine has a unique background that includes both private and public interest practice. As a former district registrar with the Manitoba Land Title Office and deputy registrar of the Manitoba Personal Property Registry, she offers a unique perspective to clients with a demonstrated track record for problem solving and legal research. She has worked on many complex transactions involving real estate with various elements of property development and financing transactions.

She attended the University of Saskatchewan for her post-secondary education. In 2007, she received her B.A. in Political Science and Government graduating with great distinction. In 2010, she graduated from the College of Law and received her J.D. Katherine was called to the British Columbia and Manitoba Bar, respectively, in 2012.

Katherine takes pride in practising in a smaller centre and in providing legal services to clients in the Westman area. When not practicing law, she enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering and providing presentations to the public.
