With deep regret, we announce that our friend and former colleague, Nate Nurgitz, has passed away at the age of 85.
Mr. Nurgitz originally joined the firm in 1979 and became a partner in 1980. 1979 also saw his appointment to the Senate of Canada where he served with distinction until 1993. In that year, Mr. Nurgitz was appointed as a Judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench, a position which he held until his retirement from the bench in 2009. He also served from 2005 until 2009 as a Deputy Judge of the Nunavut Court of Justice. In 2009, Mr. Nurgitz returned to TDS and he remained at the firm until his retirement in 2012.
The Partners, Associates, Students and Staff of TDS extend our sincere condolences to the Nurgitz family.
