Don articled at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman (“TDS”) then served as an Associate and Partner, most recently as CEO and Managing Partner until December 31, 2016. Has now resumed fulltime practice as a Partner.
Throughout his career, his preferred areas of practice have been limited to all aspects of commercial law, in both transactional and litigation matters. Having earned an LLM (Alternative Dispute Resolution) from Osgoode Hall in 2010, in the future he intends to focus on dispute resolution with an emphasis on mediation.
During the course of his practice, he has participated on various panels and authored a number of papers in presentations for The Law Society of Manitoba, the Canadian Bar Association and other professional bodies. He co-chaired the 1999 Pitblado Lectures on Business Law and Litigation with then Associate Chief Justice Jeffrey J. Oliphant and has also been a presenter at those same Lectures.
