Robert Johnston, Q.C. has over 40 years of experience dealing primarily with divorce and matrimonial property.
He has been Lawyer of Record in over 200 reported decisions at all levels of court from Trial, to Appeal, to the Supreme Court of Canada.
For major and complex matters, such as break-ups of a family farm, he offers a very unique form of binding arbitration. This alternative dispute resolution mechanism has him perform an “investigative” (fact-finding) role as Sole Arbitrator, prior to convening a “lawyer-assisted” private hearing if necessary to settle the facts and apply the law.
He authors a book entitled Child Support Guidelines: Six Steps & Eight Situations (Continuing Consolidation) and maintains a current library of Objective Summaries (Continuing Consolidation) on all topics in family law and the rules of court.
The majority of his files are on a lawyer-referral basis but direct client inquiries are welcome.
