Canadian Lawyer has ranked TDS as one of the top 5 Manitoba law firms and one of the top 10 law firms in the prairie provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Canadian Lawyer asked lawyers, in-house counsel and clients from across Canada to vote on the top full-service regional firms in the Prairies. They were asked to rank their top 5 firms in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Respondents’ rankings were based on firms’ regional service coverage, client base, notable mandates, service excellence and legal expertise.
Keith LaBossiere, Managing Partner of TDS, says a growing trend he’s noticed is an increase in out-of-province clients. “With the advances in technology and how much work lawyers are able to do remotely, whether it be online, over the phone or otherwise, it doesn’t matter where you’re located,” he says. “Lawyers in Winnipeg can deliver the same kind of product or even a better product than is being delivered in the larger urban centres. However, our market is such that we are able to deliver that product at much lower rates. Our clients see the value in that proposition.”
LaBossiere also notes, “In addition to increased out-of-province clients, TDS is growing in Manitoba beyond Winnipeg.” LaBossiere adds “We know there is a lot happening in Manitoba outside of Winnipeg and that’s why we have offices in places like Brandon, Portage la Prairie, Steinbach, Morden and Winkler. We’re pleased to be a top 5 Manitoba law firm with offices in these markets where our clients live and do business”.
TDS has been recognized on several occasions as one of Manitoba’s leading law firms, including by Canadian Lawyer Magazine, who has named TDS as one of the Top 10 Prairie Regional Firms on numerous occasions.
