Jennifer is a partner at TDS whose practice focuses on Canadian immigration law and the corporate and commercial laws that impact businesses and entrepreneurs, who have immigration needs and requirements.

With over 15 years of business law experience, Jennifer’s immigration practice has an emphasis on assisting businesses and foreign nationals with a variety of immigration matters including, but not limited to the following:

  • obtaining work permits for intra-company transferees including, foreign executives, managers and specialized knowledge workers
  • obtaining work permits for professionals, contract service suppliers and technicians pursuant to various Canadian free trade agreements including, the Canada-United-States-Mexico Agreement (formerly North American Free Trade Agreement), Canada-Chile Free Trade Agreement, the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, the General Agreement on Trade and Services and Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership
  • obtaining Labour Market Impact Assessments for purposes of hiring foreign workers to fill various job positions
  • immigration compliance reviews and inspections
  • obtaining business visitor status, study permits, post-graduate work permits, visitor visas, electronic travel authorizations and parent/grandparent super visas
  • overcoming criminal inadmissibility
  • obtaining permanent resident status through federal programs including, Express Entry, Family Sponsorship Program and Caregiver Programs.
  • obtaining permanent residence for entrepreneurs through the Start-Up Visa Program and the provincial nominee programs, including assisting with the corporate and commercial requirements under these programs.
  • obtaining permanent resident status for skilled workers through provincial nominee programs, including Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program and Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.
  • assisting Permanent Residents of Canada with obtaining Canadian citizenship
  • assisting undocumented Canadian citizens with obtaining proof of Canadian citizenship
