Sonya is an articling student at the firm who will be practicing in a variety of areas, including corporate/commercial, administrative, real estate/condominium, intellectual property and labour & employment.

Sonya graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2022 and received her Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2023. During her time in law school, Sonya participated in various externships. In her first year, Sonya worked for the Ninth Judicial District of Minnesota, directly with Judge Dixon. In her second year, she worked for a small firm in Grand Forks, ND. In her final year, Sonya was one of the four students accepted to participate in UND’s Family Law Clinical Practicum. Sonya also participated in various groups, including the Business Law Association and the Canadian Law Student’s Society.

Prior to law school, Sonya received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Sociology.

In her spare time, Sonya enjoys riding her motorcycle, trying out new restaurants, and participating in “doggie dates” through Winnipeg Animal Services.

Sonya speaks Punjabi fluently and is happy to assist clients in this language.
