Jim joined Thompson Dorfman Sweatman as an articling student and has been at the firm since that time. Jim’s practice can be divided into four areas: (a) a general corporate and commercial practice which involves advising a wide variety of businesses from small to large; (b) banking and finance, including providing general advice to financial institutions and acting for financial institutions on financings; (c) real estate and development, including acting on purchases and sales, leasing and financings; (d) advice to a number of regulatory entities. He chairs the firm's Management Committee and is past co-chair of the firm's Business Law practice group.
