Profile
A native of Winnipeg, Richard holds a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) from the University of Manitoba and was admitted to the Bar in 1976. He is a former Chair of St John’s Ravenscourt School and served on the Board and Governance Committee of People Corporation from 2012 until it was acquired in 2021. Current board positions include the Asper Jewish Community Campus of Winnipeg. In 2008 he was named the Canadian General Counsel of the Year by the National Post & ZSA Recruitment, while serving as General Counsel for CanWest Global. His practice includes corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on shareholders matters, acquisitions, sales, and mergers.
