Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS) lawyers, Jeff Pniowsky and Jennifer McRae, recently joined Canada and Manitoba government officials in the celebration of Manitoba's film and television industry and the new direct flight between LAX and Winnipeg.
The reception, hosted by the Consul General of Canada Zaib Shaikh and the Honourable Andrew Smith, Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage, took place at Canada's House in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. The reception was attended by Los Angele’s film and television industry, Canada’s film and television industry, Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, WestJet and Yes Winnipeg, to name a few. The reception included presentations by The Consul General of Canada Zaib Shaikh, The Honourable Andrew Smith and WestJet. The new LAX-Winnipeg route provides the Los Angeles creative industry sector with easy and direct access to Manitoba for filming and production.
TDS lawyer Jeff Pniowsky, who is also involved in the film industry as a film producer and trusted advisor to other producers, practices in the area of tax advisory services, tax dispute resolution in the tax audit and appeals process including international taxation, interpretation of tax treaties and large corporate transactions.
