Building legal careers through practical experience, mentorship, and exposure to diverse areas of law.

Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (TDS) is pleased to welcome Raphaël L. Boutroy, Mariella R. Daigneault, Logan R. Hiebert, Xiaonuan (April) Li, and Andrea K. Sutherland to the firm.

We are also pleased to welcome back our returning 2025 Summer Students: Jim C. Cheng, Clèche O. Kokolo, and Vanessa K. Smith.

TDS is proud to offer a Summer Student Program that provides law students with meaningful, practical experience in the legal profession. The program is designed to introduce students to the firm's lawyers, culture, and core practice areas while helping them develop foundational skills in the practice of law.

Summer Students are assigned to work with three to four lawyers practicing in various areas of law. They gain exposure to:

  • Legal research and analysis

  • Drafting legal documents

  • Preparing for court proceedings and hearings

  • Attending client meetings, pre-trial conferences, and commercial closings

This hands-on experience helps students build confidence, develop professional skills, and better understand what it means to practice law at a full-service firm.

For more information about the TDS Summer Student Program, please contact Megan Ross, Lawyer at TDS, or visit our Careers Page to learn more.
