Andrew Sain is a partner with TDS who practices civil litigation and administrative law, focused on the areas of insurance law, construction law, commercial litigation, and personal injury litigation.
Andrew has extensive experience acting on complex matters relating to insurance coverage. He regularly assists his clients in navigating difficult issues that arise in the context of construction insurance, property and casualty insurance, liability insurance, and surety bond claims. His deep subject matter knowledge allows him to provide reliable and responsive coverage advice to insurers, insureds, and other industry participants in Manitoba, Ontario, and across Western Canada.
In addition to his insurance law practice, Andrew maintains a general litigation practice with an emphasis on advancing and defending subrogated claims, commercial and shareholder disputes, and injunction proceedings.
Andrew is a seasoned litigator who has represented clients before all levels of court in Manitoba, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, and the Saskatchewan Court of King’s Bench. He regularly represents clients in mediations and private arbitrations.
Andrew has a particular interest in appellate advocacy and clerked at the Manitoba Court of Appeal in 2012.
Andrew joined TDS as a summer student in 2010, articled in 2012, became an associate in 2013, and joined the partnership in 2021. He is currently a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and previously served on the Student / Recruitment Committee.
