Elmer’s practice consists of all aspects of corporate, commercial and real property law.
Elmer is a partner at TDS with a practice that consists of all aspects of corporate, commercial and real property law. He has significant experience in commercial real estate conveyancing, financing, leasing and development and also has experience in mergers and acquisitions. Elmer also has experience and assists clients in technology and intellectual property law issues, including licensing and protection matters.

In 2012, Elmer was recognized as a Lexpert Rising Stars which honours Canada’s Leading Lawyers Under 40.
Elmer is a director and chair of the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division. Elmer also served on the board of directors the Family Centre of Winnipeg from 2000 until 2008 and served in the offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Elmer is a past co-chair of the firm’s United Way Committee and yearly campaign. He is a member of the Manitoba Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
For a number of years Elmer has volunteered as a soccer coach for the Charleswood Youth Soccer Association, the St. Charles Soccer Association, the Assiniboine Park Hockey Association coaching hockey and has also coached basketball for various community clubs and for Ecole Charleswood Junior High School.
Elmer has been an instructor for the University of Manitoba’s Solicitor/Business Transactions course and has also been a learning group facilitator in the Real Property section of the Centre for Professional Legal Education Program Course of the Law Society of Manitoba (formerly the Bar Admission Course) since 2006. Elmer has also written and edited materials for the Corporate & Commercial section of the Centre for Professional Legal Education Program. Elmer has presented from time to time on various areas of law, including recently to the Manitoba Bar Association.
