Christianson TDS Law (CTDS) in Portage la Prairie is delighted to announce its relocation to 2210 Saskatchewan Ave West as of December 13, 2023.
The original office was built in 1975 with two lawyers in mind - and the firm has since grown to 16, including lawyers, assistants and staff. The new larger space provides current employees with a better working environment that includes more natural light, better ventilation and more room around them to work, while also allowing for more expansion in the future.
“Everyone on the team is excited to grow alongside the city of Portage and rural Manitoba. We’ve watched many of the small clients we started with fifty years ago grow substantially, and they have been instrumental in our growth,” said Managing Partner Barney Christianson.
Clients will also enjoy the new space with its excellent parking, as well as all the nearby restaurants and other amenities springing up in the growing west-end community. The technology in the new office has also been upgraded with a voice-over-IP phone system and a new state-of-the-art video conference room that allows clients to join meetings from the surrounding area without the need to drive in.
“Our new location in Portage is part of the vision, but it’s not the whole vision. Rural Manitoba is a fantastic place to live, work and grow, and we couldn’t have made this move without one of our major partners, Shindico. They share our vision of the future and our vision of Portage, and we are grateful they have gone such a long way in assisting us with the move and contributing significantly to our renovations,” said Barney.
Along with the move to a new home comes expanded services with the recent hiring of lawyer Tyrone Krawetz. Tyrone practices primarily in the areas of Criminal Defense and Civil Litigation, with a unique background that includes both prosecution and defense work, offering a unique perspective to clients. Together with Portage la Prairie Office Managing Partner, Bjorn (Barney) Christianson K.C., and partners Lucy Kinnear and Kristin Desrochers, CTDS provides high-quality legal services across several areas of law, including litigation, corporate, real estate, and family law.
