Description

TDS lawyer Jarrod Sundmark will be presenting the Winnipeg Construction Association course on the topic of Stat Decs, Holdbacks & Letters of Intent, covering key aspects of construction law.

Understanding the essential documents and processes involved in construction projects can help protect your interests and support timely payment and effective project administration. This session explores three important areas: statutory declarations, including when and why they are requested or provided; holdback requirements under Manitoba’s Builders’ Liens Act; and letters of intent, including their potential legal effect, payment terms and whether they may create binding obligations. Participants will gain practical insight into how these tools can affect payment, risk and contractual relationships throughout a construction project.

This session is designed for management, owners, procurement professionals, project managers, supervisors and support staff involved in construction projects.
